A Meeting of the Minds: Our Story

About Noah & Tucker

Founders of Musical Minds Academy

Noah Dunn and Tucker Fleming met while both studying performance on merit scholarships at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. They quickly bonded over their mutual passion for sharing the gift of music with those around them, especially with aspiring music students facing adversity. It was through this shared dedication that the beginnings of Musical Minds Academy materialized.

After Berklee, Noah went on to further his education at Temple University, graduating to become a highly in-demand teacher of private and after school music lessons in school districts across California. Tucker took to the stage, embarking on a successful career performing with multiple internationally renowned artists in legendary venues across the US and beyond.

Drawing from many years of experience in the professional and educational music space, Noah and Tucker recognized the unprecedented opportunity ELO-P and ASES brings to Local Education Agencies across California. Deciding the time was right to fulfill their initial vision, Musical Minds Academy was finally established.

Since its inception, Musical Minds Academy’s programming enriches the lives of countless students every weekday within California schools. Our dedicated team of instructors ensure Noah and Tucker’s original mission of quality arts instruction for all is met with every lesson.

At Our Core: The Orff Approach

At Musical Minds Academy, we embrace the philosophy of Orff Schulwerk'; a child-centered method of music and arts education developed by renowned German composer Carl Orff. Inspired by the belief that music and arts are fundamental systems akin to language, the Orff Approach suggests that every pupil has the innate ability to likewise learn through a gentle and friendly approach.

In our classes, students have the opportunity to collaborate on the creation of music and arts together, fostering teamwork and communication skills. They learn to listen, respond, and empathize with each other, developing a sense of community. By honoring Carl Orff and his teachings, we provide our students with a well-rounded enrichment experience that nurtures their creativity, stimulates their imagination, and builds a solid foundation in musical skills.

“Since the beginning of time, children have not liked to study. They would much rather play, and if you have their interests at heart, you will let them learn while they play; they will find that what they have mastered is child’s play.” - Carl Orff
